Course outline and philosophyIn Resistance Training the students will learn about the basic fundamentals of weight training and the benefits of cardiovascular activity. Basic upper and lower body exercises, core exercises, and Crossfit training will be the focus of the learning. They will use both body weight exercises and free weights in the fitness room at the school. V02 Max will have a personal trainer come in several times during the semester to demonstrate some of the Crossfit principals that they use in their gym. Students will combine this along with nutritional knowledge to enhance their athletic ability.

Assignment #2- Tracking your physical activity
Making exercise a part of your daily routine takes practice. For the next ten weeks you will be logging the amount of activity you do during the week. This assignment is meant for you to start thinking about how you are active, so be honest! You will not lose marks for admitting that you don't exercise very often but hopefully it will help you to consciously be aware of your level of fitness. You can log anything from working out, swimming, running, playing a sport, or walking your dog.
